Je ne veux pas travailler

Last night we saw the band Pink Martini perform with the Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra at the Bass Performance Hall. Pink Martini is a little difficult to describe. I like to keep it simple: Awesome! Here's what they say:

Somewhere between a 1930s Cuban dance orchestra, a classical chamber music ensemble, a Brazilian marching street band and Japanese film noir is the 12-piece Pink Martini.

And the concert was great too. It was the first time we'd seen them live. We decided to splurge and got seats in the first row, orchestra left. This gave us a great view of the violinist, cellist, and Thomas's back (the leader and pianist). They played my favorite song, Anna early on. My wife's favorites came in the second half, Amado Mio, and an amazing, dancing in the aisles, encore with Brazil.

My Life Can Go On

I'd like to inaugurate this blog with a very serious topic.

In the office building where I currently work, I eat lunch almost every day in the cafeteria, downstairs. I don't really like bringing my lunch and there aren't any other options within easy walking distance. A few weeks ago, they stopped selling Cheetos. Ha, the last straw. I must quit my job!

I don't usually eat Cheetos that often (I actually prefer Barbara's). They were mostly a sort of occasional indulgence (particularly in the glorious combination known as Munchies). But with the convenient availability a bag of Cheetos ended up on my lunch tray a couple of times a week.

This week, the Cheetos came back. I guess I can keep working here a little while longer.
